IDIC stands for Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations and is an important concept for creating an empowered work team. Leaders must focus on competence, clarity, and trust in order to create an environment where each individual is valued and respected. To provide clarity, leaders must provide information, not instructions, and think out loud. A lack of trust can lead to micromanagement, which can prevent the team from operating effectively. Diversity without inclusion, meanwhile, is worthless and can lead to tokenism or discrimination.
